Workshop with Peder Karlsson
On January 22, 2010, we had the privilege of working with Peder Karlsson (The Real Group) in a webcam workshop via Skype. We were one of the groups helping to test this format. Lucky for us, we had read the other reports and had learned what worked for them. Our technical set up worked beautifully and we were able to proceed as if Peder were right there in the room with us! Technical details below.
From the very beginning, Peder put us at ease. Not that we were nervous or anything—I mean, it’s not like he’s in the world’s best a cappella group … oh, wait. We got to work with PEDER KARLSSON! We’re talking celebrity status here. But like I said, he was so warm and friendly that we were able to connect immediately.

SoJam A Cappella Festival
November 6-8, 2009, Clearly Vocal went to SoJam.
“SoJam is a weekend-long a cappella extravaganza brought to you by The Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA). Held in North Carolina and now in its 7th year, the festival is jam-packed with Concerts, Competitions, Master Classes and hands-on workshops led by some of the biggest names in the vocal music universe! SoJam has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting a cappella gatherings in the world.” – SoJam.net
We had no idea what to expect, but whatever we thought, it exceeded our expectations! We had so much fun together as a group. We ate, sang, joked and laughed a lot!
We made a lot of new friends and there was a ton of good networking that took place. SoJam was SoGood for Clearly Vocal!

AC100 Follow-up
The A Cappella Centennial Celebration was so much fun! Tyler Junior College Chamber Singers, The Blessing from Glenwood Church of Christ, Faithful Praise, Then and Now and Clearly Vocal performed. It was wonderful to see (and hear) the variety of styles and interests represented. Enjoy the slideshow of Clearly Vocal photos taken by our good friend Chelsea Rambin.

Valentine’s Marathon
It was a busy weekend, but we had a blast! Thursday evening, February 12, we sang for the annual area-wide seniors dinner hosted by Glenwood Church of Christ. Then at 8 A.M., Friday morning, we began our marathon day of delivering Singing Valentines throughout the Tyler area. We went all over the area, from Hideaway Lake to Troup, singing for doctors, lawyers, teachers, friends, strangers, and so on. We presented each recipient with a beautiful (five-part, a cappella) love song, a lovely rose and a card identifying the sender. Throughout the day, we sang “My Funny Valentine,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “Unforgettable,” “Fever,” and “Fly Me to the Moon” several times each. We finished up around eight o’clock Friday night, having made about twenty-five deliveries. Saturday night, we made a special appearance at Willow Brook, singing a couple of songs in the ballroom and then delivering a couple more Singing Valentines to a party in another part of the building. We were completely worn out, but we had a great time.
