SoJam A Cappella Festival
November 6-8, 2009, Clearly Vocal went to SoJam.
“SoJam is a weekend-long a cappella extravaganza brought to you by The Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA). Held in North Carolina and now in its 7th year, the festival is jam-packed with Concerts, Competitions, Master Classes and hands-on workshops led by some of the biggest names in the vocal music universe! SoJam has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting a cappella gatherings in the world.” – SoJam.net
We had no idea what to expect, but whatever we thought, it exceeded our expectations! We had so much fun together as a group. We ate, sang, joked and laughed a lot!
We made a lot of new friends and there was a ton of good networking that took place. SoJam was SoGood for Clearly Vocal!

The A Cappella Centennial Celebration was so much fun! Tyler Junior College Chamber Singers, The Blessing from Glenwood Church of Christ, Faithful Praise, Then and Now and Clearly Vocal performed. It was wonderful to see (and hear) the variety of styles and interests represented. Enjoy the slideshow of Clearly Vocal photos taken by our good friend Chelsea Rambin.

A Cappella Centennial Celebration
Join us Saturday, April 18, at 7 P.M., for an A Cappella Centennial Celebration, a free community concert featuring several a cappella groups from the Tyler/East Texas area. Come listen to barbershop, classical, spiritual, and contemporary jazz a cappella music, in the parking lot of Glenwood Church of Christ, at the corner or Rice Road and Hollytree Drive. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Glenwood Family Life Center.
The Yale Whiffenpoofs began singing in January 1909. As the first college a cappella group, they were the spark for today’s exploding college and high school a cappella scene. College a cappella, in turn, was the birthplace of numerous contemporary a cappella groups, including Rockapella, The House Jacks, and many that followed in their footsteps.
The A Cappella Centennial Celebration is 100 days of a cappella concerts around the world, celebrating college a cappella and the musical movement it inspired. Running from Valentine’s Day 2009 (Saturday, February 14) through Memorial Day weekend (Sunday, May 24), this “virtual festival” will celebrate all styles of all-vocal music as performed by more than 5,000 ensembles around the globe.
Clearly Vocal is proud to be a part of the worldwide A Cappella Centennial Celebration and we hope you’ll join us! Please contact us if you have any questions.
